If I were Gene Shalit, I could get away with saying, simply, “The Incredibles is incredibly good!” or some such crap. I will, however, say that I would agree with that statement and I would urge everyone to see the movie. For those of you already fans of Pixar’s films, you don’t need my recommendations. Indeed, you’ve probably already seen it. For those of you who think this is just a silly kids’ film, I would propose that you think of it as a superhero action film that just happens to be animated. A Fantastic Four comic made motion (that promises to be vastly better than the sorry excuse for a Fantastic Four now in production under the direction of the guy who made Barbershop and starring Dark Angel, Horatio Hornblower, and the Commish). Your fanboy cool won’t suffer if you see this. For those who must maintain their auteurist credibility, note that the film is both written and directed by the same person, Brad Bird.

Agreed, thoroughly excellent film. And I don’t think it’s too far a stretch to call Brad Bird an auteur. This and The Iron Giant—which were made in very different formats—favor human dramas over life-bestowed toys and musical numbers (it’s been noted as an odd statistic that The Incredibles is the first Pixar film with only human characters). It’s remarkable that you can say this film is simultaneously about familial resilience, middle age, and superheroes.
How wonderful it is! Today, I had seen the film – “The Incredibles” this afternoon, My father also had seen this film in this evening. This cartoon movie is powered by Disney Company. In this film, I love the people’s sensation, scene, bugbears. The scene is so sublime. With the great imagination.
Best action sequences I’ve seen in years and the Bond like soundtrack is great is well…
