I wholeheartedly agree. I went into this movie expecting schmaltz, and was blown away by both the lead performances. It takes a helluva actor to make a love scene in a lake filled with swans seem credible. Sigh…
It’s the story that kills this for me. Nicholas Sparks is all about manipulative tearjerkers, I’ve never forgiven him for Message in a Bottle. I personally would campaign to stop his novels from ever being made into movies, or being made, period. That said, Ryan Gosling is totally hot.
The Notebook is totally awesome its like the best romantic movie ever. I cried when I saw it. It has to be my favorite movie ever! Nothing could top it. Ryan Gosling is a total babe!
I wonder if Maeghan will have the same reaction to Matt’s Au Hasard Balthazar review?
