Dumb and Dumber / USA / 1994
The Farrelly brothers may have dropped the ball with their last few films (and actually, I didn’t much care for There’s Something About Mary either), but Dumb and Dumber remains one of my favorite comedies. An effective blend of crude jokes and memorably witty sequences, not to mention a great buddy picture and a fun road movie, the film puts Jim Carrey to work in a role that he was born to play, and never fails to make me laugh. “We landed on the moon!” Great stuff.
