That it should have come to this: George Clooney aloof (kapow!), Chris O’Donnell arrogant (bam!), Arnie in shocking pun mode (zlop!) and – lest we forget – Alicia Silverstone in leather (splatt!).
It’s more camp than a boy scout weekend (or the original television series, for that matter) and less good than virtually any other film you care to think of. I can only hope that the forthcoming Batman Begins (with the excellent Christian Bale) will put right the wrongs of every Batman sequel so far.

“Everybody Chill!… Chill… Chill” A friend of mine once told me she loves this movie because of the costumes. When I told Jason, he quickly exclaimed “that’s like liking a book because of the font!” Naturally, I laughed for awhile after he said that.
Its worth noting that the film careers of all the leads (except Uma Thurman) have steadily gone south after this turkey was released.

I think George Clooney has done pretty well since then, so far as success goes, anyway.
And Arnie has become Governor of California, though I’m not really in a position to judge politically if that’s a move south. It certainly isn’t geographically speaking.
From a Batman point of view, it’s interesting to note the first few murmurs aren’t wholly impressed with the forthcoming Batman Begins. I’m still holding out, though…
Clooney is easily a bigger star now than when he jumped into the Batsuit. He’s considered to be among Hollywood’s elite and he’s definitely an A-list celebrity. You might not like his movies, but you can’t really say his career has gone south since this film.
