Lenny / USA / 1974
Between Cabaret and All That Jazz, Bob Fosse’s portrait of Lenny Bruce is easy to overlook. That’s a shame because it’s an amazing film featuring an amazing performance by Valerie Perrine as Honey Bruce. Thank Christ Raquel Welch turned the role down.

Have you seen Star 80? My favorite of Bob Fosse’s overlooked films.

Yes, sir. And it’s a shame that Eric Roberts (much like Valerie Perrine in Lenny) never rose to the same heights again.
