Dazed and Confused / USA / 1993

This is one of the most naturally written films I can cite. It feels completely organic. Richard Linklater is so relaxed and low-key in the making-of footage on the Criterion disc that it’s difficult to deem him one of America’s most innovative contemporary filmmakers, a title I’d give him with no hesitance.

Again, Rumsey is far-out, solid and right-on. Richard Linklater borrowed from what was already there. The seventees never died out; just morphed itself into what can only be carried by the kids, through the kids, through these decades. Apart from the late sixtees revolution; the removal of the Parent Guard, it’s been the same. And the actors naturally showed this.

I bought the CC dvd of Dazed and Confused yesterday at Best Buy. I got home, took the plastic off, opened the box, and…….NO DVDs! Can I exchange it for another copy?

I’m not sure our site is the best place to obtain such information, but based on my past experience with Best Buy stores in Canada, as well as their “Canadian” sister-chain Future Shop, you really shouldn’t have any problems exchanging the discs as long as you still have the sales receipt. Just tell them that no discs were in the case and they usually just offer an exchange.
