The Girl Can’t Help It / USA / 1956

What a great movie. Absurdly entertaining performances from the likes of Little Richard, the Platters, and Fats Domino, absurdly cartoonish humor, and Jayne Mansfield’s absurdly pointy breasts. They don’t — maybe they simply can’t — make movies like this anymore.

You mentioned “cartoonish”, I can’t help but parallel the old Looney Tunes cartoons. They can’t make those anymore, either.

Tashlin actually started out directing Looney Tunes cartoons, and that sensibility certainly carries over into his live-action films.
