I found an old VHS of this about a week ago and loved re-watching it. The next day, I saw “The Prestige,” which also features dual teleportation chambers, and a man whose obsession leads to his death.
Actually, there was less of a parallel between the two films than I was looking for – ok, there was none – which is why I’m rambling about it in this comment rather than writing an essay. Oh well.
