There are things you do hate, Lord. Perfume-smellin’ things, lacy things, things with curly hair.
Coming less than a week after my interactive Princess Bride experience, the Brattle Theatre’s sing-a-long screening of Singin’ in the Rain offered a similar opportunity for fans to most vocally and publicly demonstrate their love of a classic feel-good film. There was one small logistical snag – referring to the lyric sheet provided by the theater meant taking my eyes off of the numbers – which was cleared up once I realized that I didn’t actually need a lyric sheet to sing along. And what better way to spend a Sunday night than drinking in Donen and Kelly’s splashy Technicolor visuals on the big screen, accompanied by laughs, applause, and sincere shouts of “Gotta dance!”?
